Our Leadership Rep. Patti Komline is the elected leader of the House Republican Caucus and is a resident of Dorset. She was educated at Antwerp International School, Antwerp, Belgium; American School in London, London, England; Mendham High School in Mendham, New Jersey; and Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison, New Jersey (B.S., 1982). She is married to Keith Komline and they have three sons. Rep. Patricia McDonald is the assistant minority leader and lives in Berlin, Washington County. She was born in Summit, New Jersey, on July 8, 1943, and moved to Vermont in 1988, after work- ing for nineteen years at CIBA-GEIGYCorporation, a leading manufacturer head-quartered in Ardsley, New York. After relocating to Vermont, she spent three and a half years with the Merchants Bank and served in the capacity of Vice-President, Human Resources and Regulatory Management. In 1991, she was appointed Commissioner of Personnel by Governor Richards Snelling. She then served Governors Howard Dean and James Douglas in several leadership positions: Commissioner of Labor, Commissioner of Employment and Training, Secretary of Transportation, Deputy Commissioner of Education, Commissioner of Motor Vehicles and Commission of Personnel, a position she held twice. Ms. McDonald has served on numerous task forces, boards and committees, such as the Vermont Employment Security Board, State Apprenticeship Council, Governor's Workforce Diversity and Equity Council, Governor's Jobs Cabinet, Human Resources Investment Council and the State Employees Retirement Board. She is the Chair of the Berlin Selectboard and member of Berlin's Town Center Task Force, Post Office Committee and Capital Budget and Planning Committee. She is a member of the First Congregational Church of Berlin, Berlin Historical Society, Vermont Covered Bridge Association, Relay for Life of Central Vermont, Central Vermont Workforce Investment Board and CVEconomic Development Council. Our Members Rep. Gregory Clark of Vergennes, Addison County, Republican, was born on July 19, 1947, in Burlington, Vermont, and is a lifelong resident of Vergennes. Occupation: Teacher. Rep. Joseph Krawczyk Jr. of Bennington, Bennington County, Republican, was born in Bennington, Vermont, on 24 December 1947. Occupation: US Army retired. He was educated in Bennington at St. Francis de Sales Academy and graduated from Bennington Catholic High School in 1965. He holds a BS degree from the University of Southern Colorado and a MAfrom the United States Naval War College. He entered the army at the age of 19 and remained for more than 27 years before retiring in 1994 at the rank of colonel. He served as a Cavalry platoon leader in Vietnam in 1969-1970 where he was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action, four Bronze Stars for Valor, and two Purple Hearts for wounds received in combat. After his retirement, he returned to Bennington and took the position of store manager at H. Greenberg & Son where he served for more than 7 years. In 2001, he was elected to the Bennington Select Board, and in 2002 he was selected as Vice-Chairman, a position that he still holds. He has served on the Boards of the Better Bennington Corporation and the Bennington Economic Development committee. Rep. Scott Wheeler of Derby, Orleans County, Republican, was born in Newport, Vermont, on February 8, 1965.
